We're a small family business run by me Teko and my amazing Wife - Gabrielle, with our two energetic boys, aged four and six, keeping us on our toes. Believe me, we get it – the demands of family life can be overwhelming, and finding time to connect with your loved ones can sometimes feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack. But here's the thing – we've been there, and we know firsthand how frustrating it can be when life gets in the way of spending quality time together.
That's why, at Keiki Krate, we've made it our mission to help families like ours slow down, connect, and create meaningful memories together. We understand the importance of family rhythms and the value of blocking out time to ensure we're fully present with our kids. After all, those little moments are what life is all about.
So, how do we do it? Well, let me share a bit of our story and some tips that have helped us along the way. We are both from entrepreneurial families who believe in serving our communities and finding ways to make the world a better place. So, ten years ago (July marks our tenth anniversary) after tying the knot, we ventured around the world working in countries like Sierra Leone, Singapore, Brazil and South Korea to do just that. One of our biggest observation was the power of quality family engagement in shaping confident, socially adept children. Our mission? To replicate that nurturing environment for our own family and share our experiences so others can benefit too. And the best part? We're always learning along the way

- Prioritize Family Time: We make it a priority to block out dedicated time to spend with our boys. Whether it's reading books or praying before bedtime, going for a family walk after dinner, or having a weekly movie night, these rituals help us stay connected and create a sense of belonging.
- Embrace Outdoor Adventures: We're firm believers in the power of nature to nurture and inspire. That's why we make sure to get outside as much as possible, whether it's exploring the local park, biking along the trials, or simply playing in the backyard. There's something magical about being outdoors that brings us closer together as a family.
- Unplug and Engage: In today's digital age, it's all too easy to get sucked into screens and devices. We’re not perfect but we make a conscious effort to unplug and engage with one another without distractions. Whether it's playing board games, creating with tinker toys, or simply having a heart-to-heart chat, these moments of undivided attention are priceless.
- Encourage Creativity and Play: Our boys are at their happiest when they're lost in play, so we make sure to provide plenty of opportunities for open-ended exploration and creativity. That's where our Montessori-inspired toys come in – they're designed to spark imagination, curiosity, and joy, allowing our kids to learn and grow in their own unique way.
